Anatomy Of Nephron


  • Nephron is the structural and functional unit of kidney.
  • Each kidney contain about one million nephrons

Parts of a Nephron :


  •  Bowman’s capsule which contains glomerulus
  • Proximal convoluted tubule.
  • Loop of Henle.
  • Distal convoluted tubule.
  • Collecting ducts.
  • The collecting ducts will pass through the medulla and open into the minor calyxes.
  • Arterial Supply : Renal Artery.
  • Venous Drainage : Renal Vein.
  • Lymphatic Drainage : Para aortic group of lymph nodes.
  • Nerve Supply : Sympathetic and Para sympathetic.
