Anatomy Of Thymus

  • It is a lymphatic organ present in the superior mediastinum of thorax.
  • This organ will be present only upto the age of puberty afterwards it will regress.
  • It is covered by a capsule. It will sent septa into the interior, which are called as trebeculae.
  • These are dividing the organ into lobules.
  • Within each lobule, outer corted and inner medulla is present.
  • The medulla of lobules is continous with adjacent lobule.
  • In the medulla, the hassals corpuscle is present.
