Pulse Pressure Calculation

Definition :

Difference between the systolic pressure and diastolic pressure is called the Pulse Pressure. It is measured in millimeter mercury ( mmHg ).

Pulse Pressure     :     Systolic Pressure - Diastolic Pressure
                 ( PP )            :     SBP - DBP

Calculation :

          Systolic pressure minus diastolic pressure.

Example :

If BP is 120/80

Pulse Pressure     :     120 - 80
Pulse Pressure     :      40 mmHg.

Values :

Low Pulse Pressure     :     Less than 25mmHg.
High Pulse Pressure    :     More than 100mmHg.
