Low residue diet

          Low residue diet is a diet it reduce the frequency and volume of stools. It is most likely to low fiber diet. Low residue diet contain maximum 10 grams of fiber per day. The low residue diet can not provide adequate amount of nutrients calcium, potassium, vitamin C, folic acid.

Foods that Consider as Low residue diet :

  • Baked Chicken ( Meat )
  • Mashed potatoes ( Cooked Vegetable )
  • Strained green beans

Foods that not Included in Low residue diet :

  • Whole grain
  • Cornflakes cereal
  • Lettuce salad 
  • Apple
  • Coconut pie
  • Fried scrambled eggs
  • Ham and bean soup
  • Tacos and taco chips ( Raw Vegetables )

Low residue diet used in such conditions :

  • Crohn’s Disease
  • Ulcerative Colitis
