Axillary group of lymph nodes

  • These are 20 – 30 in number.
  • Present in the axilla.
  • These are divided int 5 groups.
          1. Apical.
          2. Cental.
          3. Posterior.
          4. Anterior.
          5. Lateral.




  • They receive lymph from the entire upper limb, mammary gland and skin covering the back of the trunk.

Applied Anatomy :

  • These lymph nodes are enlarged in infections of the upper limb carcinoma in the breast.
